About the position

Tofu is an early stage generative AI startup located in the SF Bay Area, specifically in San Mateo, where we are building a unified platform for creating hyper-personalized, omnichannel campaigns at scale that convert leads for B2B Marketing teams. Our target customers are mid-market and enterprise Marketing leaders, and we work closely with their demand generation, product marketing, and content teams. Our founders have backgrounds from prominent companies such as Meta, Google, Twitter, and Slack, bringing deep expertise in both the technical domain (AI/ML/NLP) and the business domain (B2B marketing). This unique combination allows us to understand the pain points of our customers and apply technology effectively to build a scalable product that users love. We are backed by top venture capitalists in the Bay Area, including Index Ventures and SignalFire, and we are experiencing growth in revenue while being well-capitalized. In this role, we are seeking a proactive, fast-moving, and empathetic Customer Onboarding Manager who will work closely with our customers during their initial onboarding phase with Tofu. The ideal candidate will have experience with martech/salestech products and complex SaaS products. This position is critical in defining our go-to-market (GTM) strategies, which include improving and documenting our onboarding process, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, facilitating the transition to annual contract conversions, ensuring customer adoption and satisfaction, and translating customer feedback and bugs to our product and engineering teams. We are looking for a doer who enjoys working closely with customers and product/engineering teams, someone who can delve into the details of our products and think ahead to ensure customer success and quick realization of positive ROI. Responsibilities

  • Work directly with each new customer to create their first campaigns and show ROI as quickly as possible.
  • Own and run all customer onboarding processes during the first few months to ensure customer success and active usage of Tofu.
  • Work with sales to understand the nuances of each customer and tailor onboarding experiences to their specific needs.
  • Perform regular check-ins and ad hoc meetings with new customers to solicit feedback, answer questions, and support product usage.
  • Collaborate closely with the product and engineering teams to resolve customer issues and bugs that are reported by customers.
  • Partner with Sales to narrow and refine Ideal Customer Profile (ICP) and inform the overall sales process.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of enterprise Customer Success Manager (CSM), Account Manager (AM), or Onboarding experience.
  • Experience in Marketing/Sales technology is a bonus.
  • Previous startup experience is helpful but not required.
  • Proven track record of driving customer adoption and success within enterprise SaaS environments.
  • Strong understanding of customer onboarding best practices, methodologies, and tools.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
  • Data-driven mindset with attention to detail and documentation.
  • Deep level of customer empathy and patience.
  • Comfortable with technical concepts and working with product/engineering teams.
  • Proactive, self-starter who is comfortable with autonomy but knows when to seek assistance.
