About the position

The Customer Sales and Service Representative at Applied Industrial Technologies is responsible for providing expert assistance to customers, addressing their inquiries, and building long-term business relationships. This role focuses on delivering exceptional customer service in a service and parts center environment, where quick and efficient problem-solving is essential, especially during equipment breakdowns. The position offers a clear growth path towards sales or management careers within a global industrial distribution company.

Responsibilities

  • Assist customers by phone and in person at the facility.
  • Clarify customer needs, conduct research, and recommend parts after gaining experience.
  • Meet and exceed monthly sales goals while enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Process quotes, take orders, and provide post-order service.

Requirements

  • 6 months of customer service experience preferred.
  • Desire to increase knowledge in industrial distribution products.
  • Excellent telephone skills.
  • Ability and desire to learn new systems and processes quickly.
  • Enjoys working with computers, including basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (specifically Outlook & Excel) and comfortable with Google search engine.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record (MVR).
  • SAP / ERP experience preferred but not required.
  • Some knowledge of industrial distribution products and hydraulics preferred but not required.
