About the position

The Customer Sales Support Representative will be a key member of the Customer Service team at a metro Detroit-based distributor. This role focuses on providing high-level service to customers, processing sales orders, and maintaining effective communication to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, team-oriented, and possess strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain quality relations with assigned customers.
  • Manage communications and serve as the main point of contact for day-to-day issues with your assigned customers.
  • Respond to inquiries and complaints.
  • Receive and verify customer releases/requirements coming in via fax, email, web portal, or EDI and schedule shipments to fulfill those requirements.
  • Maintain updated, organized files on all assigned customers.
  • Maintain inventory to meet customer demand and analyze changes.
  • Enter customer sales orders, vendor purchase orders, price changes, customer quotations, etc. into the ERP system.
  • Coordinate with/assist other departments (Accounting, Quality, Shipping & Receiving, Sales) daily to ensure customer satisfaction is maintained.
  • Attend and participate in relevant meetings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of general office experience required (Automotive experience, specifically experience with automotive releases, supply chain, and scheduling are greatly preferred).
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with customers, vendors, and other parties via phone, email, web conference, or in-person meeting.
  • Must have a team player attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Basic computer skills are required (proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Experience with ERP systems is required.
  • Must have reliable transportation and the ability to maintain an 8:30am - 5:00pm schedule Monday - Friday.
