About the position

The Customer Service Associate (Cashier) plays a crucial role in representing the Rebel brand by providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the store. This part-time position involves cash handling, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting customers with their purchases. The CSA is expected to work efficiently and professionally, adhering to company policies and procedures while fostering a welcoming environment for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on scheduled days at the scheduled time, dressed in approved uniform as per the Company Dress Code.
  • Act professionally at all times, displaying a positive attitude and representing the company positively to customers and vendors.
  • Assist customers in purchasing products by understanding available products and promotions.
  • Meet, greet, and thank customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service and handling complaints tactfully.
  • Develop customer connections by understanding frequent purchases and building relationships.
  • Utilize transactional equipment (cash registers, electronic safe, etc.) to process customer transactions efficiently.
  • Adhere to proper cash handling procedures to prevent loss of profit.
  • Follow security controls regarding theft prevention and identification checks.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including restrooms, floors, and food service areas.
  • Perform inventory duties and ensure proper product pricing and rotation.
  • Complete required training and attend store meetings.
  • Notify management of any observed dishonesty or incidents in the store.
  • Accurately record all time worked and lunch breaks using the time clock program.
  • Assist customers with the operation of fuel pumps and other equipment as needed.
  • Properly ring all sales and purchases on the cash register.
  • Understand laws regarding age-restricted sales and verify identification accordingly.
  • Keep all emergency exits clear and maintain safety protocols.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
  • Ability to learn to operate a cash register and other related equipment.
  • Ability to learn and apply proper sanitation and safety requirements.

Nice-to-haves
