About the position

The Customer Service Associate (Cashier) plays a crucial role in representing the Rebel brand by providing excellent customer service and ensuring the smooth operation of the store. This part-time position involves various responsibilities, including cash handling, maintaining store cleanliness, and assisting customers with their purchases. The CSA is expected to work efficiently and professionally, adhering to company policies and procedures while fostering a welcoming environment for customers.

Responsibilities

  • Report to work on scheduled days at the scheduled time, dressed in approved uniform as per the Company Dress Code.
  • Act professionally at all times, displaying a positive attitude and representing the company positively to customers, vendors, and other employees.
  • Assist customers in purchasing products by understanding available products and promotions/pricing.
  • Meet, greet, and thank customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent customer service and handling complaints tactfully.
  • Develop customer connections by understanding frequent purchases and building one-on-one relationships.
  • Utilize transactional equipment (cash registers, electronic safe, etc.) to efficiently process customer transactions.
  • Adhere to proper cash handling procedures to prevent loss of profit in the store.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store, including restrooms, floors, and food service areas.
  • Perform inventory duties, including following vendor check-in processes and ensuring correct product pricing policies.
  • Complete all required orientation training and ongoing training, and attend store meetings.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in written form.
  • Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions; able to read and write at a level sufficient to perform assigned duties successfully.
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations using addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to learn to operate a cash register, computer console, and other related equipment.
  • Ability to learn and apply proper sanitation and safety requirements associated with food storage and serving.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for at least 8 hours.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to 30 pounds from ground to overhead.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in cash register operation.
  • Knowledge of customer service best practices.
