About the position

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Customer Service Associate / Cashier to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and ensuring a positive shopping experience. Your responsibilities will include handling transactions, assisting customers with inquiries, and maintaining a well-organized store environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products or answering questions.
• Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the cash register.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions while ensuring compliance with cash handling procedures.
• Maintain an organized checkout area and ensure it is stocked with necessary supplies.
• Upsell products by effectively communicating promotions and special offers to customers.
• Assist in restocking shelves and maintaining inventory levels to ensure product availability.
• Collaborate with team members to achieve sales goals and provide excellent customer service.
• Address customer complaints or concerns professionally and escalate issues as necessary.

Requirements

• Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred but not required.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
• Familiarity with retail math to assist in inventory management and sales reporting.
• Basic knowledge of cash handling procedures and point-of-sale systems.
• Ability to supervise junior staff members when required, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Proficiency in phone etiquette for handling customer inquiries over the phone.
