About the position
The Customer Service Associate / Cashier role involves providing excellent customer service while handling transactions and maintaining a clean and organized checkout area. The position requires interaction with customers, managing cash and credit transactions, and ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities
- Handle cash, credit and debit transactions with customers
- Scan goods and collect payments
- Ensure pricing is correct
- Issue change, receipts, or gift receipts
- Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct
- Resolve customer complaints, guide them and provide relevant information
- Bag/box items carefully as instructed
- Greet customers when entering or leaving our establishment
- Maintain clean and tidy checkout area
- Answer customer questions and get a manager if answer doesn't solve the issue
- Bag, box or gift wrap as needed
- Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure satisfaction
- Verify stock and restock shelves as needed
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1 year of cashiering experience
- Proficiency in English
