Customer Service Associate / Cashier

About the position

Sugar Twist Bakery is seeking a passionate Customer Service Associate/Cashier for seasonal, part-time positions at two locations in Bakersfield, CA. The role focuses on providing high-quality customer service and assisting with bakery and beverage orders while maintaining the bakery's standards for product freshness and sanitation.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service
• Assist customers with all food and bakery orders: place, prepare, and package orders
• Assist customers with all drinks and beverages orders
• Label all products for product display cases
• Package all products for efficiency and presentation
• Organize and rotate stock as necessary
• Stock, refill, and count inventory
• Set up and fill display case products daily to Sugar Twist's guideline and specification
• Operate a Point Of Sale system to perform sales transactions for customers
• Count cash accurately for sales transactions
• Know all product prices and accurately account for each product during sales transactions
• Perform tasks in a timely manner to ensure customer care
• Handle and record any customer complaints or evaluations
• Be accountable for inventory and work stations
• Maintain sanitation, cleanliness, and personal hygiene
• Exhibit professionalism, friendliness, teamwork, and smiles
• Maintain Sugar Twist's high standards for product freshness and sanitation
• Follow Sugar Twist's guidelines and store policies
• Know custom ordering process to fill customer's requests
• Train other associates as needed
• Keep work area clean and clean up before leaving for shift, including washing all tools and supplies
• Clean all assigned areas and equipment
• Operate a commercial espresso machine
• Complete other tasks/duties as assigned/requested by Shift Leader and/or Manager
