About the position

The Customer Service Associate II - Billing is responsible for providing billing and customer service support within the Gwinnett County Department of Water Resources. This role involves ensuring timely invoicing for a large number of customer accounts, reviewing invoices for accuracy, processing bill corrections, generating reports, and collaborating with various departments to resolve account issues and disputes. The position requires daily interaction with customers to address inquiries and maintain account information.

Responsibilities

  • Provide billing and customer service support for 270,000 customer accounts.
  • Review invoices for accuracy and process bill corrections.
  • Generate reports related to billing and collections.
  • Collect on past due balances and resolve account issues.
  • Collaborate with Field Operations and Customer Service to address bill disputes.
  • Conduct regular maintenance of customer accounts.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three years of customer service experience, including one year in an office setting.
  • Progressive experience in billing and collections, financial and accounting preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License from state of residency.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a utility or public service environment.
  • Knowledge of billing software and customer service platforms.
