About the position

The Customer Service Associate is a part-time role focused on providing excellent customer service, handling cashiering duties, and maintaining a clean and organized store environment. The position requires strong interpersonal skills to engage with customers, process transactions accurately, and assist with stocking and housekeeping tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Greet customers in a welcoming and professional manner.
  • Utilize customer-focused interpersonal skills to assist customers effectively.
  • Process checkout, exchange, and return transactions using cash registers and credit/debit card terminals.
  • Accurately handle cash and make change, maintaining proper cash levels in the register drawer.
  • Bag items for customers and refill register paper as needed.
  • Make helpful recommendations to customers and identify opportunities to sell additional merchandise or services.
  • Answer incoming phone calls from customers professionally and courteously.
  • Provide information regarding order status, product availability, current sales, promotions, and store events.
  • Replenish merchandise and face products on shelves for a neat presentation.
  • Monitor entrances and exits to promote store safety and security.
  • Perform daily housekeeping duties to maintain a clean environment.
  • Assist with various other functions to support the team as assigned.

Requirements

  • Prefer high school diploma or GED, but not required.
  • Prefer additional coursework in agriculture, plant science, animal science, or a related field.
  • Prefer 6 months of experience in a retail setting providing excellent customer service and operating point of sale equipment.
  • Prefer experience in agribusiness or a related field.
  • Able to demonstrate customer-focused interpersonal skills and communicate positively.
  • Able to learn and apply knowledge of facility guidelines and standard operating procedures for handling cash and utilizing point of sale equipment.
  • Attention to detail for accurate cash handling and merchandise awareness.
  • Ability to operate cash register and debit/credit card machine.
  • Ability to work a defined schedule that may change weekly and report to work on time.
  • Reliable transportation.
