About the position

The Customer Service Associate role is a temporary position focused on delivering exceptional customer experiences in a retail environment. The associate will engage with customers, assist with their needs, and ensure efficient service at the checkout. This role also involves maintaining store operations, including inventory management and compliance with regulations, while fostering a positive atmosphere for both customers and team members.

Responsibilities

• Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
• Registers sales on assigned cash register, providing courteous and efficient checkout service.
• Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
• Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
• Shares customer service best practices with team members to enhance service delivery.
• Recommends items for sale and suggests trade-up or companion items to customers.
• Processes customer purchases, including cash handling and managing returns or exchanges.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, and assists with inventory management.
• Implements asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
• Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
• Constructs and maintains promotional displays and completes resets as directed.
• Assists with food item separation and stock rotation according to policies.
• Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo services.
• Monitors and fulfills web pick-up orders for customers.
• Maintains a clean and orderly store appearance, both inside and outside.
• Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
• Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

• Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
• Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
