About the position

As a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Your primary responsibilities will include registering sales on the assigned cash register and providing customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service. You will engage with customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services, ensuring that their needs are met and any issues are resolved promptly. Your role will also involve modeling and sharing customer service best practices with all team members, which includes demonstrating interpersonal habits such as greeting customers, maintaining eye contact, and exhibiting courtesy. You will embody Walgreens service traits by proactively offering help, identifying customer needs, and ensuring satisfaction throughout their shopping experience. In addition to customer engagement, you will be responsible for various operational tasks. This includes recommending items for sale to customers, processing transactions on the cash register, collecting cash, and distributing change as needed. You will also handle voids, returns, rain checks, refunds, and exchanges. Maintaining a clean and well-merchandised environment is essential, as you will keep counters and shelves organized, take inventory, and maintain records. You will check in and price merchandise as required, implement asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss, and ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products such as alcoholic beverages and tobacco. Your role will also involve constructing and maintaining displays, completing resets and revisions as directed, and assisting with food item separation and product placement according to company policies. You will provide customer service in the photo area, assist with web pick-up responsibilities, and ensure the store's exterior and interior are clean and orderly. Compliance with company policies and maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers is paramount, and you will complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned. Training and personal development are also key components of this position, as you will attend training sessions and complete required personal performance logs (PPLs) as requested by your manager or assigned by corporate.

  • Monitors web pick-up orders and fills them as they arrive.
  • Ensures clean and orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Attends training and completes PPLs as requested.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
