About the position

The Customer Service Associate at Heart of Texas Goodwill Industries plays a vital role in assisting with store operations, ensuring a positive shopping experience for customers while supporting the mission of the organization. This entry-level position involves various responsibilities, including customer interaction, merchandise management, and maintaining store cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers upon encounter
• Assists customers in finding items and answering questions
• Removes out-of-date items from display areas
• Maintains display areas including special displays, racks, shelves, and bins
• Monitors and opens dressing rooms and restrooms as needed
• Watches for theft
• Accepts donations and directs donors to the donation area
• Prepares receipts for donations as necessary
• Hangs clothing in production when needed
• Cleans areas of the store, including restrooms
• Puts merchandise out on the floor

Requirements

• Ability to read the English language preferred
• Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers preferred
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
• Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables
• Must pass a drug screen
• Criminal background check required
• All educational backgrounds accepted; or up to one month related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in customer service or retail environment
• Basic knowledge of cash handling procedures
