About the position

As a Customer Service Associate at Walgreens, you will play a crucial role in delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience. Your primary responsibilities will include engaging with customers and patients, providing courteous and efficient checkout service, and resolving customer issues to ensure a positive experience. You will model and share customer service best practices with your team, emphasizing interpersonal habits such as greeting customers, maintaining eye contact, and offering proactive assistance. Your role will also involve operational tasks such as registering sales on the cash register, processing transactions, and maintaining a clean and well-merchandised store environment. In addition to customer engagement, you will be responsible for recommending items for sale, processing returns and exchanges, and ensuring compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products. You will assist in maintaining store displays, managing inventory, and providing customer service in the photo area. Your commitment to upholding company policies and procedures while fostering respectful relationships with coworkers will be essential in this role. You will also participate in training and personal development opportunities as assigned by your manager or corporate. This position requires flexibility in scheduling, including availability for evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of the store and its customers. Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
  • Engages customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Models and shares customer service best practices with all team members.
  • Provides customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
  • Recommends items for sale to customers and suggests trade-up and/or companion items.
  • Processes customer purchases, collects cash, and distributes change as requested.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves, takes inventory, and maintains records.
  • Checks in and prices merchandise as required or directed by the store manager.
  • Implements company asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Constructs and maintains displays, including promotional and seasonal merchandise.
  • Completes resets and revisions as directed.
  • Assists with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures.
  • Assists in stock rotation and restocking consumable items.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service.
  • Monitors web pick-up orders and delivers orders to customers as they arrive at the store.
  • Assists with maintaining a clean and orderly store condition and appearance.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekend hours.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer to have prior work experience with Walgreens.
