About the position

The Customer Service Associate at Walgreens is responsible for delivering a distinctive and delightful customer experience by engaging with customers, providing efficient checkout service, and assisting with product inquiries. This role involves operational tasks such as managing sales transactions, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations. The associate will also participate in training and personal development to enhance their skills and service delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Models and delivers a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
  • Registers sales on assigned cash register and provides courteous checkout service.
  • Engages customers by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolves customer issues and answers questions to ensure a positive experience.
  • Shares customer service best practices with team members.
  • Provides fast and efficient service to customers.
  • Recommends items for sale and trade-up options to customers.
  • Processes customer purchases, including cash handling and returns.
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of counters and shelves.
  • Checks in and prices merchandise as required by management.
  • Implements asset protection procedures to minimize profit loss.
  • Ensures compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products.
  • Constructs and maintains promotional displays and resets as directed.
  • Assists with food item separation and stock rotation.
  • Provides customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photos.
  • Monitors and fills web pick-up orders for customers.
  • Assists with store maintenance to ensure a neat appearance.
  • Complies with company policies and maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Completes special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • Attends training and completes required personal development tasks.

Requirements

  • Must be fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice-to-haves

  • Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
  • Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
