About the position

The Customer Service Associate role at Berkshire Bank focuses on cultivating customer relationships and promoting the bank's products and services. The position involves handling a variety of customer service operations, including transactions for checking, savings, and loans, while ensuring a positive customer experience. The associate will also assist clients with digital engagement and cross-sell non-traditional banking products.

Responsibilities

  • Handle complex client issues while executing excellent customer service principles.
  • Excel at client service skills to promote a positive brand image for the bank through face-to-face communication and telephone etiquette.
  • Lead through lobby management, ensuring prompt welcomes and assistance to clients.
  • Explain bank policies and procedures to customers.
  • Assist clients with digital engagement and satisfaction.
  • Cross-sell and refer non-traditional bank products to meet established goals.
  • Participate in outbound calling campaigns.
  • Identify opportunities when processing transactions to meet clients' needs and refer opportunities to bankers.
  • Execute a variety of customer transactions in accordance with bank policy and procedures.
  • Maintain working knowledge of all products offered by the bank and corresponding policies and procedures.
  • Handle large amounts of cash in an organized, timely, and accurate fashion.
  • Balance own cash drawer daily within prescribed guidelines.
  • Act as a deterrent of robbery and fraud loss by following procedures and regulations.
  • Assist in daily office work to ensure proper balancing of the branch and timely delivery of work to appropriate departments.
  • Provide backup and support to Branch Supervisor tasks as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all banking laws, rules, regulations, and prescribed policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior transaction or teller experience preferred.
  • Prior customer service experience preferred.
  • Cash handling experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in phone etiquette.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Interpersonal skills.
