About the position

The Marina Coast Water District is looking for a Customer Service/Billing Technician I/II to join their team. The Customer Service Representative I is the entry level in this series, where incumbents will learn the District's customer service and billing systems, operations, practices, and procedures. As experience is gained, assignments become more varied and are performed with greater independence. The Customer Service Representative II is the experienced level in this class series, where employees receive occasional instruction or assistance and may provide team leadership, training, and work review for entry-level staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service and billing support.
• Help customers resolve payment and service orders.
• Learn and utilize the District's customer service and billing systems.
• Perform administrative support tasks as needed.
• Assist in training and reviewing work for entry-level staff.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• For Technician I: One year of experience in general office support and computer applications.
• For Technician II: Two years of administrative/clerical experience and intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
• Prior customer service experience is required for Technician II.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in a customer service role.
• Business school or college-level coursework in business and computer applications.
