About the position

As an Associate Team Leader at Whole Foods Market, you will support the Team Leader in executing Customer Service and E-Commerce programs, focusing on enhancing the checkout experience and managing grocery delivery and pickup operations. Your role involves ensuring safety, quality, and productivity while monitoring performance metrics and compliance with health regulations. You will also be responsible for developing team members and maintaining a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding customer experience and hold all Team Members accountable for customer service.
  • Establish clear expectations for balancing in-store customer service and completing online orders.
  • Monitor in-store and online customer flow; assign tasks to balance customer needs.
  • Monitor the schedule to maintain in-store customer needs and online order capacity.
  • Sustain strong knowledge of competitors and industry trends.
  • Ensure effective response to customer questions and concerns.
  • Support collaborative relationships with departmental leaders and partners.
  • Foster a positive environment of teamwork and morale.
  • Maintain Team Member safety and security standards.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory rules and standards.
  • Develop, coach, mentor, and motivate Team Members to sustain high performance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of workspaces and security of equipment.
  • Proactively identify process improvement opportunities.
  • Communicate and model WFM core values and leadership principles.

Requirements

  • 18+ months retail experience including 6+ months of supervisory experience.
  • Strong ability to perform task management and balance dynamic customer flows.
  • Demonstrated understanding of labor utilization and task management impact on performance metrics.
  • Strong analysis skills to identify root causes of underperformance.
  • Excellent communication skills for performance analysis findings.
  • Strong interpersonal, motivational, and team building skills.
  • Capable of teaching others positively and constructively.
  • Demonstrated decision-making ability and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Proficient with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.
  • Proficient with mobile applications and retail systems capabilities.
