About the position

DataPath is seeking a Customer Service Engineer in support of the GTACS II STT Sustainment Program. The role involves ensuring the maintenance, operation, and performance of Ku-Band Mobile Terminals, while assuming an on-site leadership role with customer satisfaction as the primary goal. The engineer will work closely with site personnel to maintain satellite communication system availability, troubleshoot and resolve circuit or equipment outages, provide interim reports based on site conditions, and maintain the site in a professional and clean manner. The position requires performing on-site duties that enable DataPath to successfully implement contractual obligations related to mobile terminal operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the maintenance, operation and performance of Ku-Band Mobile Terminals.
  • Assume the on-site leadership role with customer satisfaction as the primary goal.
  • Work with site personnel to maintain satellite communication system availability above acceptable levels.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any identified circuit or equipment outages or degradation.
  • Provide interim reports as necessary, based on particular site conditions and/or problems.
  • Maintain the site (including electronics and office) in a professional and clean manner.
  • Perform the on-site duties which enable DataPath to successfully implement contractual duties relative to mobile terminal operation and maintenance.

Requirements

  • Applicant must have a US Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security clearance. Top Secret is acceptable.
  • A Bachelor's degree and 5 years' experience as a FSR or related activities within the last 10 years; conducting maintenance on systems in the field; a strong technical understanding of military systems; a strong mechanical background.
  • Requires a valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to obtain an international driver's license.
  • Strategic or tactical multi-channel satellite communications experience.
  • Strong grasp of satellite communications operational theory.
  • Must be hands-on person with the knowledge to operate and configure various satellite communication equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working with Cisco routers.
  • Experience with ViaSat Linkway Modems.
  • Experience with PBX - T1/E1, FXS, Adds/Drops.
