About the position

At Piedmont Airlines, we are excited to welcome you to our team as a Customer Service Gate Agent in our Ground Handling Department. This part-time position is essential in ensuring that our passengers have a smooth and pleasant experience while boarding and disembarking from our flights. As a Customer Service Gate Agent, you will play a crucial role in monitoring computerized passenger boarding systems, assisting customers with special needs, and making necessary changes to flight itineraries. Your ability to work effectively in a high-energy environment while providing excellent customer service will be key to your success in this role. The primary responsibility of the Customer Service Gate Agent is to assist passengers during the boarding process. This includes monitoring the boarding process through computerized systems, helping passengers with special needs, and ensuring that all passengers are safely boarded onto the aircraft. You will also be responsible for operating the Jetway and working collaboratively with your team to meet corporate objectives and deliver outstanding service to our customers and airline partners. To excel in this position, you must successfully complete the Gate Agent training course, demonstrate the ability to lift up to seventy (70) pounds, and be available to work all shifts, including weekends, nights, and holidays. This role requires effective communication skills, the ability to organize and prioritize tasks, and a commitment to meeting company goals and customer expectations. Responsibilities

  • Assist passengers in boarding and disembarking flights
  • Monitor computerized passenger boarding
  • Assist customers with special needs, including arranging for wheelchairs and unaccompanied minors
  • Change customer flight itinerary and seat assignments as required
  • Operate the Jetway
  • Work as a team to provide excellent customer service and meet corporate objectives

Requirements

  • Successful completion of training course

Nice-to-haves

  • Previous airline experience
