The Customer Service Generalist position at the Gloucester Customer Service Center of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) is designed for service-oriented professionals who are eager to engage with the public and assist with various DMV-related transactions. Responsibilities

  • Handle various customer transactions including issuing IDs and processing applications.
  • Communicate policies, procedures, and regulations to customers.
  • Administer vision, driver, and in-car road tests.
  • Process vehicle registrations and titling, and collect taxes.
  • Provide other DMV-related services as required.

Requirements

  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience using a personal computer or automated systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting.
  • Flexibility to work Monday through Friday and Saturdays as needed.
  • Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in completing assignments on time.
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a valid VA Driver's License and a responsible driving record.
