About the position

The Customer Service-Housing Occupancy Specialist will be responsible for managing various tasks related to housing occupancy, including conducting tenant interviews, maintaining records, and handling correspondence. This position is a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Chester, Pennsylvania, and requires strong customer service skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tenant interviews to complete annual and interim recertifications as well as re-examinations.
• Update and maintain tenant records accurately and consistently.
• Draft, format, and distribute letters to tenants as required.
• Execute data entry tasks and manage housing databases and spreadsheets.
• Acquire all necessary tenant certifications, authorizations, and third-party verifications.
• Notify tenants of any changes in rent.
• Respond to phone calls and emails from tenants promptly and efficiently.
• Update, maintain, and organize tenant files efficiently.
• Prepare reports as needed.
• Perform additional related tasks as required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2+ years of experience working as a Customer Service-Housing Occupancy Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel
• Experience with data entry and order entry
• Strong customer service skills, including experience in a call center customer service environment
• Ability to handle both inbound and outbound calls effectively
• Strong written communication skills, with experience in email correspondence
• Ability to schedule appointments efficiently and accurately
• Commitment to maintaining the highest level of confidentiality at all times
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• High school diploma or equivalent education level required
