About the position

Big Red Barn Self Storage is a successful, family-owned storage company located in Central Texas, seeking energetic and flexible individuals to join our team. We have full-time positions available at our self-storage facilities in the Central Texas area, including locations in Killeen, Copperas Cove, Jarrell, Belton, and Temple. The current opening is at our Jarrell, Texas location. Candidates must be willing and able to work at different locations for training or coverage as needed. Leasing agents will work four shifts and enjoy three days off per week, including every Sunday. The shifts start at 8:00 am and end at 6:00 pm. The starting salary for this position is $14.00 per hour. As a leasing agent, you will report directly to the Property Managers and be responsible for leasing storage units, selling merchandise, providing excellent customer service, and achieving occupancy and income goals. You will also ensure that the facility is properly maintained and that all duties related to operating and maintaining the self-storage property are conducted in strict compliance with the company's policies and procedures. Your essential job functions will include consulting with customers to provide advice on how to store and pack their belongings, assisting them in determining the appropriate storage unit size, and promoting additional products such as locks and moving supplies. You will be responsible for answering phone calls professionally, instructing potential tenants about the self-storage process, and preparing all necessary documents associated with leasing a storage unit. Additionally, you will maintain tenant files, follow up on delinquent accounts, and ensure the facility's appearance is well-maintained by cleaning and sanitizing the office and preparing self-storage units for leasing. Daily site inspections will be required to report any incidents to the Property Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining the appearance of the facility and cleaning the office.
  • Preparing self-storage units for leasing and conducting site inspections.

Requirements

  • No experience needed, but 1 year of customer service is preferred.
  • Computer knowledge including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Driver's License is required.
  • Prior leasing experience is helpful but not required.
