About the position

The Customer Service Manager at The Commerce Bank of Oregon is responsible for overseeing daily branch operations, managing staff, and ensuring compliance with bank policies. This role emphasizes customer service excellence and aims to support the bank's strategic growth plans while fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily branch operations, including oversight of Tellers and Customer Service staff.
  • Handle hiring, termination, performance reviews, and counseling of staff.
  • Review work schedules to ensure adequate coverage at the branch.
  • Maintain compliance with all bank policies and procedures and prepare for internal audits.
  • Monitor branch service levels and coach staff to achieve performance goals.
  • Address complex customer complaints and inquiries.
  • Open and close the branch as needed.
  • Communicate and manage promotional campaigns and product initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A college degree and 5+ years of related banking experience, including operations and customer service management.
  • Working knowledge of the banking industry, branch operations, compliance, regulations, policies, procedures, and products.
  • Strong customer service, relationship-building, sales, and supervisory skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions and work effectively with clients, employees, and management.
  • Ability to set and maintain high-quality work standards.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
