About the position

The Customer Service Manager Trainee is responsible for managing retail operations within the assigned department, ensuring high standards of service, merchandise quality, and store presentation. This role involves building strong relationships with associates and customers, promoting a positive work culture, and maintaining compliance with safety and sanitation standards. The position requires effective leadership, training, and performance management of department associates to achieve financial objectives and enhance customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Manage retail operations for the assigned department.
  • Build associate and customer relations and promote a strong culture.
  • Ensure store conditions involving appearance, security, safety, and food safety are maintained.
  • Hire, train, and develop associates to meet department needs.
  • Supervise performance of all duties and responsibilities of assigned department associates.
  • Role model outstanding friendly customer service.
  • Maintain accurate records of production, shrink, sales, and inventory.
  • Conduct performance appraisals on all department associates according to company standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company sanitation, safety, and food safety standards.
  • Use company tools such as MPP, financial reports, and business information systems.

Requirements

  • Department Manager or equivalent experience required.
  • College degree or equivalent preferred.
  • Must be accredited as a Certified Food Safety Manager or complete training within 90 days of employment.
  • Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
