About the position

The Customer Service Manager at Boardwalk Pipeline Partners is responsible for leading the Customer Service Team in providing front-line support to both internal and external customers regarding the daily commercial operations of the pipeline. This role focuses on enhancing customer satisfaction and loyalty through effective management of capacity release, nominations, confirmations, scheduling, allocations, and imbalance management. The manager will also analyze customer data to support commercial growth and implement process improvements within the gas management systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate workforce planning and career development activities across a team of account managers and scheduling analysts.
  • Foster an effective, collaborative team environment ensuring each individual's efforts are integral to the team's success.
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships with customers to maximize satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Analyze customer activity against contractual and pipeline operational limitations and ensure proper communication of critical information.
  • Prepare and coordinate ad hoc analyses for internal and external customers related to nomination and scheduling functions.
  • Retrieve and compile customer data in response to commercial team requests and analyze it for presentation to aid in contracting decisions.
  • Participate in and/or lead efforts to define business requirements and implement new services or changes to current practices.
  • Comply with federal regulations, industry standards, and company policies.
  • Execute organizational strategies, goals, and initiatives.

Requirements

  • At least 7-10 years natural gas industry experience
  • Critical thinking and analytic skills
  • Clear communication skills (verbal and written) with external and internal parties
  • Collaborative teamwork focus
  • Familiarity with pipeline Gas Management Systems and FERC regulations
  • Software expertise in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of the Gulf South FERC Gas Tariff and pipeline system
  • Prior management experience
