The Customer Service Receptionist at Helen Woodward Animal Center plays a vital role in providing quality customer service in a busy Companion Animal Hospital. This position involves effective communication of hospital policies, scheduling appointments, and maintaining client and animal records while managing the front desk. The receptionist will also handle monetary transactions and report urgent issues to hospital staff, ensuring a smooth operation in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality customer service to clients and visitors in the Companion Animal Hospital.
• Communicate hospital and Center policies and procedures to the public positively.
• Schedule appointments and respond to communications via face-to-face, phone, email, and written correspondence.
• Maintain client and animal records while managing the front desk.
• Handle monetary transactions accurately at checkout and for retail purchases.
• Maintain professional contact with veterinarians and service providers to obtain complete animal records.
• Communicate needs and report urgent customer service or personnel issues to Hospital staff.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months of receptionist experience or other customer service experience preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong customer service and prioritization skills.
• Detail-oriented and organized.
• Ability to work in both team and self-directed environments.
• Ability to work closely with animals (dogs, cats, exotics) and manage hair/dander exposure.
