About the position

The Customer Service Registrar is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate patient registration at Swedish Medical Center, part of HCA Healthcare. This role involves interviewing patients to gather necessary account information, verifying insurance coverage, and providing exemplary customer service. The position requires working varying shifts, including weekends, and is essential for creating positive patient interactions.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstation or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Provide exemplary customer service during the registration process.
• Ensure charts are completed and accurate.
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization as needed.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts.
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatments.
• Process patient charts according to paperwork flow needs and established productivity standards.
• Interview incoming patients and their relatives to obtain identifying and demographic information along with insurance and financial information.
• Assign Insurance Plans (IPlans) accurately and verify insurance benefits.
• Enter all information and authorization/referral numbers into the registration system.
• Secure all signatures necessary for treatments and release of medical information.

Requirements

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
