Customer Service Registrar

About the position

The Customer Service Registrar at HCA Florida Palms West Hospital is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate patient registration, providing exemplary customer service, and verifying insurance coverage. This role is crucial in maintaining high-quality patient care and involves interviewing patients to gather necessary account information and ensuring all required signatures are obtained for treatments.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients at workstation or at bedside to obtain all necessary account information.
• Perform bedside registration utilizing carts/computers on wheels.
• Provide exemplary customer service to patients and their families.
• Verify all insurance and obtain pre-certification/authorization as needed.
• Calculate and collect patient liability amounts accurately.
• Ensure that all necessary signatures are obtained for treatments.
• Interview incoming patients, relatives, or responsible individuals to gather identifying and demographic information along with insurance and financial details.
• Assign Insurance Plans (I-Plans) accurately based on patient information.
• Verify insurance benefits and determine pre-certification/authorization status via online or other resources.
• Initiate pre-certification/authorization/notification of admission if required and not previously obtained.

Requirements

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office applications required.
