About the position

The Customer Service Representative will serve as the primary contact for customers, ensuring they receive excellent service and timely updates regarding their orders. This role involves managing customer interactions, maintaining records, and addressing customer needs to enhance their experience with the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Keep customers informed about the status of their orders.
  • Make weekly phone calls to customers.
  • Follow customer jobs throughout the manufacturing process to ensure timely delivery.
  • Maintain customer contact files in the computer system.
  • Contact customers' buyer representatives to discuss and request changes to purchase orders.
  • Fill out customer surveys.
  • Manage customer portals.
  • Maintain a customer complaint log.
  • Attend Production Control meetings and report on changes to customer needs.

Requirements

  • Polite, helpful, and courteous phone skills.
  • Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions.
  • Sales skills, including telephone skills and the ability to create value.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
  • Understanding of Manufacturing MRP software.
  • Basic math skills for determining economical lot sizes.
  • Fluent communication skills in English, including grammar.
