About the position

The Customer Service Representative role at a well-established Credit Union in Livermore involves handling a high volume of incoming calls from prospective customers. The primary focus is on providing information about establishing Credit Union accounts and ensuring a high-quality service environment. This position is dynamic and requires effective communication and collaboration with team members to meet customer needs.

Responsibilities

• Accept a large volume of inbound member phone calls on a daily basis.
• Actively engage members and establish a high-quality service environment by having a courteous and helpful attitude.
• Educate and cross-sell members on the credit union's product and service offerings that can help them meet and exceed their financial needs.
• Promptly process member transaction requests on deposit accounts, consumer and mortgage loans, debit and credit cards.
• Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues across departments and branches to deliver optimal and efficient service to our members.
• Uphold a standard of professionalism actively fostering positive relationships internally and externally.
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the credit union's products and services, ensuring compliance with applicable Federal and State laws, Credit Union banking regulations, and the Credit Union's policies and procedures and current promotions.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Six months of work experience in a clerical capacity required; additional experience in a phone-based bank or credit union customer service capacity preferred.
• Excellent verbal communication skills required.
• Good written communication skills preferred.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
