About the position

The Customer Service Representative / Cashier position at Western Building Center is a full-time role focused on providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced retail environment. The successful candidate will engage with customers, assist with sales, and maintain the organization of the retail facility while gaining knowledge in building materials sales and related administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure that WBC customers and clients have the best possible retail experience
  • Answer phones, provide customer service over the telephone or route calls appropriately
  • Fulfill sales goals as directed by the store manager
  • Maintain clean and organized appearance of the retail facility
  • Plan and pace own work efficiency in order to meet daily, weekly, project, or team related productivity goals
  • Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attend periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements

  • Knowledge of company products sufficient to determine appropriate applications
  • Good customer service and communications skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to read customer orders and follow safety regulations
  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems
