About the position

The Customer Service Representative - Claims at Acuity is responsible for processing loss information from insureds, agents, and claimants through various communication channels. This role involves data entry, claim assignment, and handling of various claims types, including automobile, property, general liability, and workers' compensation. The CSR also manages paperwork, bills, checks, and medical records, ensuring timely and accurate claim servicing.

Responsibilities

  • Input loss information into the Claim System from various sources including mail, email, fax, webpage, or phone.
  • Index various claims documents and manage the input and payment of towing, roadside assistance, and auto glass claims.
  • Process Workers' Compensation claims and manage the EXP9 queue.
  • Set up and handle claims with minimal anticipated activity using the system/team.
  • Match checks to attachments provided by Claims Representatives and prepare checks for mailing.
  • Order claim payment audit letters and enter all incoming responses.
  • Process medical bills sent in by providers and send bills to the third-party reviewer, CorVel.
  • Review and resolve discrepancies with CorVel.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • Data entry experience required.
  • Customer service experience or training preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for a telephone-based service environment.
  • Ability to work between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
  • Computer knowledge with a data entry background.
  • Ability to achieve 6,000 - 6,500 keystrokes per hour on alphanumeric data entry with minimal errors.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Capable of adjusting priorities to maintain loss reporting timeliness.
  • Near-perfect attendance and scheduling flexibility.

  • Willingness to voice ideas and opinions in monthly unit meetings.
