About the position

The Customer Service Representative/Graphic Designer position at Lakes Area Graphix and Signworx is designed for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional customer service while also utilizing their graphic design skills. This role is primarily focused on ensuring a quality customer experience throughout the entire sales process, from initial contact to post-sale support. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding customers on sign usage, graphic design, and installation, ensuring that all interactions are professional and respectful. In this role, you will coordinate various order details, including image quality, pricing, and delivery options. You will be expected to respond promptly to customer inquiries via telephone, email, live chat, or in person, demonstrating a commitment to customer satisfaction. Additionally, you will provide professional graphic design guidance, taking into account the intended purpose of the designs and ensuring high-quality image proofs are delivered to customers. The position also involves gathering and documenting customer order details, including payment information and delivery requirements, and providing after-sale support to ensure customer retention. You will be encouraged to make recommendations for continuous improvement of internal systems and procedures, contributing to the overall efficiency of the team. Other duties may include assisting with production activities as needed, showcasing a collaborative team spirit.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a quality customer experience before, during, and after the sale.
  • Coordinate order details including image quality, pricing, and delivery options.
  • Respond to customer requests after the sale to assure customer retention.
  • Demonstrate professional interaction with team members and customers.
  • Quickly respond to prospective customer questions via telephone, email, live chat, or in person.
  • Provide professional graphic design guidance to customers.
  • Identify order options and alternative products for customers.
  • Gather and document customer order details, including payment and delivery requirements.
  • Provide after-sale support and information on products to customers.
  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement of internal systems and procedures.
  • Assist with production activities periodically as needed.

Requirements

  • Preferred minimum of a 2-year degree in graphic design.
  • 2 years of experience working directly in customer service.
  • Ability to provide a positive customer experience.
  • Efficiently create intriguing graphic designs that meet customer expectations.
  • Accurate documentation of order details and timely follow-through with customers.
  • Working knowledge of office information systems, including Microsoft Office and customer management systems.
  • Working knowledge of graphical design software, including Adobe systems and Photoshop.
  • Knowledge of the sign industry, including materials, pricing, usage, and installation.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop (1 year preferred).
  • Knowledge of the sign industry.
