The Customer Service Representative (Human Services Specialist 1) position at the Oregon Department of Human Services is a full-time role focused on providing essential resources and services to individuals and families in need. Responsibilities
- Provide specialized assistance to individuals and families seeking services.
- Assist clients in accessing programs such as food benefits, cash assistance, and childcare assistance.
- Serve as the first point of contact for clients in-person and through online applications or phone communication.
- Contribute to a welcoming environment for families interacting with the department.
- Support day-to-day office functions, including mail distribution and case transfers.
- Work collaboratively with a team to meet the business needs of the office.
Requirements
- Bilingual in Spanish and English.
- Two years of experience in interviewing or substantial people contact.
- Experience in customer service with a high volume of diverse customers.
- Strong communication skills for conflict resolution and relationship building.
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft programs and web-based platforms.
