About the position

The Customer Service Representative I - Business Office at Cardi's Furniture & Mattresses is responsible for delivering exceptional service to customers, processing transactions, and supporting store operations. This entry-level position focuses on ensuring customer satisfaction through effective communication and problem-solving skills, while also contributing to the company's goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all customers and provide customer service and clerical support for the stores.
  • Determine customers' needs using proper inquiries and recognize and overcome customer objections.
  • Process customer orders and returns, verify inventory status, and schedule pick-ups and deliveries.
  • Process invoices and payments via cash, check, credit card, and financing for guest purchases.
  • Balance cash drawer and determine the deposit.
  • Maintain daily reports and email communications.
  • Act as a liaison between guests and other departments.
  • Contact guests regarding availability of merchandise, delivery, and customer pick-up services, and overdue payments on accounts.
  • Assist and follow-up with customers in resolving their questions, concerns, and issues on purchases.
  • Ensure all required customer and merchandise information is accurately documented in the computer system.
  • Adjust customers' invoices due to cancellations, merchandise refusals, or price changes.
  • Assist with training and development of other associates.
  • Comply with all applicable company health, safety, and quality standards, policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Attend department/company meetings as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of customer service or retail experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, and working knowledge of computer operating systems.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
