About the position

The Customer Service Representative I at Northcentral Electric Cooperative is responsible for providing prompt, accurate, and courteous service to members, visitors, and fellow employees. This entry-level position requires effective communication and organizational skills to handle various service requests and member inquiries, ensuring a positive experience for all customers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive service requests including meter installations, removals, and repairs.
  • Process member payments by phone and manage account disconnects and reconnects.
  • Update the Customer Information System with job orders and member information.
  • Verify identification and property ownership for membership applications.
  • Handle member calls for payment extensions and arrange payment plans.
  • Perform Radio Operator duties as needed.
  • Communicate with the Commercial Account Coordinator regarding commercial account requests.
  • Scan documents into the Customer Information System and manage correspondence with members.
  • Back-up front desk receptionist when required.
  • Answer customer service emails and questions regarding marketing programs.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under stress.
  • Excellent memory for answering member questions regarding programs and policies.
