About the position

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) serves as a key point of contact for the Louisiana Office of Teaching and Learning, Division of Early Childhood Operations. This role is focused on providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers by addressing inquiries related to the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) and ensuring accurate information is delivered promptly and politely.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an administrative representative with direct access to CCAP systems to support callers with general CCAP program questions.
• Interpret CCAP policy and clarify information for customers.
• Check eligibility or renewal status for CCAP.
• Receive and respond to complaints related to the CCAP Household Eligibility program.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of programs and available resources.
• Communicate how this role supports the overall goal of improving kindergarten readiness.
• Complete work accurately and in a timely manner, accepting accountability for performance.
• Respond to phone calls and information requests from stakeholders and the general public regarding LDOE information.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the Department's policies and services.
• Route phone calls or messages to the appropriate LDOE contact.
• Assist CCAP Household Eligibility staff with sorting, logging, and scanning mail from stakeholders and the public.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the direct supervisor or LDOE Center supervisor.

Requirements

• Some college or business school preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year of inbound call center experience.
• Strong computer skills and typing proficiency required.
• Ability to navigate websites proficiently and locate required information.
• Must be able to type at least 30 words per minute.
