About the position

The Customer Service Representative - Sales Development Representative role at DXP involves engaging with potential customers to drive sales and support the outside sales team. This position focuses on lead generation, appointment setting, and maintaining customer relationships through effective communication and product knowledge. The role is essential in ensuring a seamless transition of qualified leads to the sales team while achieving set metrics and contributing to the overall success of the company.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect and Qualify Leads: Identify potential customers through outbound cold calling, email campaigns, and social media engagement to establish a pipeline of prospective accounts.
  • Appointment Setting: Schedule and confirm meetings for the outside sales team, ensuring a seamless handoff of qualified leads.
  • CRM Management: Diligently log and update lead information, interactions, and follow-ups in the company's CRM system to ensure accurate reporting and lead tracking.
  • Product Knowledge: Gain a deep understanding of our products and services to effectively communicate their value proposition and address common customer objections.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on outreach strategies and maximize the effectiveness of outreach campaigns.
  • Goal Achievement: Meet or exceed weekly and monthly metrics, including number of calls, meetings scheduled, and qualified opportunities passed to the sales team.
  • Responding to customer inquiries regarding company products and services.
  • Processing customer phone orders.
  • Checking availability of stock and shipping dates.
  • Quoting prices, filling orders to customer specifications and processing sales data via computer.
  • Assisting the outside sales team by preparing price quotes and sourcing products.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Enthusiastic and able to work independently.
  • Experience performing a majority of the functions listed.
  • Prior inside sales/customer service experience.
  • Data entry skills, organization, multi-tasking, and customer focus are required.
  • Regular in-person attendance is required.
