About the position

The Customer Service Representative - Sales Development Representative at DXP Enterprises is responsible for driving sales through effective customer engagement and support. This role focuses on prospecting new leads, managing customer inquiries, and collaborating with the sales team to achieve sales goals. The position emphasizes the importance of product knowledge and customer service excellence to meet the needs of industrial customers.

Responsibilities

• Identify potential customers through outbound cold calling, email campaigns, and social media engagement to establish a pipeline of prospective accounts.
• Schedule and confirm meetings for the outside sales team, ensuring a seamless handoff of qualified leads.
• Log and update lead information, interactions, and follow-ups in the company's CRM system to ensure accurate reporting and lead tracking.
• Gain a deep understanding of products and services to effectively communicate their value proposition and address common customer objections.
• Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to align on outreach strategies and maximize the effectiveness of outreach campaigns.
• Meet or exceed weekly and monthly metrics, including number of calls, meetings scheduled, and qualified opportunities passed to the sales team.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding company products and services.
• Process customer phone orders and check availability of stock and shipping dates.
• Quote prices, fill orders to customer specifications, and process sales data via computer.
• Assist the outside sales team by preparing price quotes and sourcing products.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; some college preferred.
• 1 year of inside sales or customer service experience.
• Excellent communication skills and enthusiasm for independent work.
• Strong data entry, organizational, and multi-tasking skills.
• Customer-focused approach.
