About the position

The Customer Service Representative Team Lead at Optum is responsible for managing incoming calls related to behavioral health services and Medicaid benefit plans in Salt Lake County. This full-time position requires flexibility in working hours and involves providing referrals, verifying Medicaid eligibility, and completing administrative tasks to support the Care Coordination team. The role emphasizes the importance of customer service and aims to improve health outcomes through effective communication and support.

Responsibilities

  • Taking inbound calls
  • Researching and providing referrals to providers/agencies in Salt Lake County for Medicaid eligible consumers
  • Utilizing a computer database to verify Medicaid eligibility
  • Offering additional information such as phone numbers or addresses to individuals who have contacted the wrong organization
  • Completing additional administrative tasks as assigned that support the Care Coordination team

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • 2+ years of Customer Service experience in insurance, medical, behavioral health, or financial technology
  • Familiarity with computer and Windows PC applications
  • Ability to work full-time, including flexibility for occasional overtime
