About the position

Wheatland Bank is looking for a Customer Service Representative/Teller to join their team in West Wenatchee, Washington. This role is essential for providing exceptional customer service and assisting customers with various banking needs. The ideal candidate will be friendly, knowledgeable, and possess strong customer service skills, contributing to a collaborative and transparent work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Processes retail and commercial checking and savings deposits by ensuring all necessary deposit documents are in proper form.
  • Cashes checks, savings withdrawals, and makes cash advances while confirming all necessary documents are properly authorized and within limits.
  • Operates computer terminal or personal computer to process account activity, determine balances, and resolve problems.
  • Assists with night depository duties including logging, bagging, processing deposits, and issuing receipts.
  • Cross-sells the Bank's other products and services, referring customers to appropriate staff as needed.
  • Issues cashier's checks and performs safe deposit duties by controlling access and assisting customers.
  • Receives and processes stop payment and hold orders, and accepts loan payments.
  • Balances cash drawer daily and verifies cash being returned to the vault.
  • Provides effective customer service and assists in resolving problems within given authority.
  • Maintains records and logs, prepares wire transfers, and sorts mail or reports as required.
  • Answers telephones and directs callers to proper Bank personnel.
  • May gather data and process various reports such as currency transaction and monthly audit reports.
  • Processes traveler's checks, ATM deposits, change orders, and deposit slip corrections.
  • May assist in opening and closing the vault daily and balancing vault currency and coin.
  • Copies, scans, and faxes documents to files and distributes to appropriate personnel.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Cash Handling Experience Preferred
  • Customer Service Experience Preferred
  • Ability to work in a professional and confidential manner
  • Basic ten-key skills
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Professional verbal communication skills
  • Ability to positively promote the organization to customers and co-workers
  • Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.
