About the position

We are seeking a diligent Customer Service Representative to join our team in the Elgin, IL area. This position will focus primarily on customer service duties and cashier tasks. Accuracy in cash handling and credit payments is key! This employment opportunity offers a long-term contract with the potential for contract-to-hire. As a Customer Service Representative, you will act as the first point of contact for customers, providing exceptional service through in-person interactions. You will be responsible for processing customer orders and handling any related inquiries or issues. During busy periods, such as back-to-school, you will support the team by assisting with additional tasks and responsibilities. Your role will also involve ensuring the smooth operation of the customer service desk, which includes managing customer queues and ensuring efficient service. Strong organizational skills will be essential as you manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously. Collaboration with the wider team will be necessary to enhance customer success and satisfaction. You will proactively address any customer issues or complaints, working to resolve them in a timely and satisfactory manner. Additionally, you should be prepared to stay on your feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting materials as needed.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Possession of exceptional customer service skills is necessary
  • Cash handling and payment processing experience required
  • Strong organizational skills are required
  • Prior experience in customer success roles is preferable
  • Candidates with customer support experience would be preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced educational environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Problem-solving skills and ability to handle challenging customer interactions
  • Willingness to participate in continuous learning and training opportunities
  • Prior experience in the education industry would be a plus.
