About the position
The Customer Service Representative at Hassan & Sons Inc. plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the food mart and delivering exceptional customer service. This position involves maintaining a clean and well-stocked environment, handling cash transactions, and providing a welcoming atmosphere for customers. The representative is expected to uphold the company's standards and contribute to customer satisfaction through effective communication and service delivery.
Responsibilities
- Welcome and greet customers as they enter the store.
- Represent the company professionally at all times.
- Maintain a courteous attitude when interacting with customers.
- Perform the Four Steps of Customer Service to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Promote current promotional items to customers.
- Offer credit card application information to customers.
- Stock and maintain displays and coolers for visual appeal.
- Ensure promotional signage is in good condition and effectively displayed.
- Verify correct pricing for all products and remove damaged items.
- Keep the food and beverage area clean and well-stocked.
- Ensure hot food and beverage items are fresh and properly prepared.
- Sanitize machines and equipment that come into contact with food and beverages.
- Conduct cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately on the POS system.
- Perform simple math calculations for transactions.
- Drop money in the safe according to company policy.
- Maintain outdoor equipment and dispose of trash and debris.
- Sweep and mop floors and clean restrooms.
- Check for valid identification for age-restricted items.
- Understand car wash operations and reset if needed.
- Perform other assigned duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Basic understanding of POS systems preferred.
- Some customer service experience is preferred.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to adapt, multi-task, and make sound decisions is essential.
- Computer proficiency is required.
