About the position

The Customer Service Representative I position at MFA Oil Company is responsible for delivering high-quality customer service to clients while managing daily operational tasks. This includes recording sales, processing payments, managing inventory, and completing bank deposits. The role requires effective communication and organizational skills to ensure customer satisfaction and adherence to company policies.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily sales and deposit reporting accurately and timely.
  • Ensure daily sales and receipts are listed accurately on monthly stock sheets.
  • Process customer payments accurately and apply them to the correct accounts.
  • Complete petty cash reimbursements with proper documentation.
  • Assist manager in securing and maintaining tax exemption forms.
  • Answer phones, greet customers, and handle routine requests courteously.
  • Notify customers of MFA Oil's 'Out of Gas' procedures.
  • Process daily correspondence from customers and home office promptly.
  • Complete new customer documentation, including safety documentation and credit applications.
  • Maintain up-to-date filing systems.
  • Assist with sales and collection of accounts receivable as directed by the manager.
  • Obtain propane certification and fill propane tanks as required.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Communicate professionally with management, employees, vendors, and customers.
  • Keep supervisor informed of any issues that need attention.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations accurately.
  • Physical ability to remain stationary for up to nine hours per shift.
  • Ability to lift and move products weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice-to-haves

  • 1-3 years of customer service or applicable work experience.
