About the position
VCA Dover Animal Hospital is a modern 2 doctor practice located in Dover, DE, looking to grow our team. We are conveniently situated within 45 minutes of the Delaware/Maryland Beaches, offering many outdoor recreational opportunities. For those who enjoy city life, we are within 2 hours of Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., and just 10 minutes from the Dover Air Force Base. Our newly built facility features 7 exam rooms, including 2 dedicated to cats only. We pride ourselves on providing a high standard of care and educating our clients to help them make informed medical choices for their pets. Our highly skilled support staff play an integral role in supporting our doctors and delivering excellent medical care to our patients while ensuring a high level of customer service to our clients. Our community-based practice offers opportunities to engage with clients through service projects, educational seminars, and family-friendly festivals.
Responsibilities
- Greeting visitors and answering telephones
- Guiding clients and their pets to exam rooms
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- Placing outbound calls for follow-ups and reaching out to prospective clients
- Presenting and explaining fees, including processing payments
- Recommending, selecting, and obtaining products and services, including prescriptions
- Answering questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care
- Managing medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence
- Maintaining the hospital, including removal of animal waste and ensuring the facility is neat and clean at all times.
Requirements
- Ability to provide quality customer service in a friendly and supportive environment
- Good communication skills
- Ability to multi-task while maintaining a good sense of humor
- Genuine enjoyment of working with animals and their owners
