About the position

The Customer Service Representative at MMG Insurance Company serves as the first point of contact for customers, providing essential support related to payments, billing, policy and claims information, and technical assistance. This role is crucial in ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining the company's reputation for exceptional service. The position requires a minimum of three days a week in the office located in Presque Isle, ME, and involves various data entry tasks to support the production and servicing of insurance policies.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for customers via telephone.
  • Provide customer service and assistance with payments, billing, policy and claims information.
  • Perform data entry assignments to support the production and servicing of insurance policies.
  • Set up all reported First Notices of Loss.
  • Answer questions and receive requests for policy changes, entering them into the computer system.
  • Provide accurate billing and cancellation information to customers.
  • Document calls from customers using an Imaged 'Underwriting Note' for recordkeeping.
  • Process customer credit card payments received via telephone.
  • Maintain knowledge of company underwriting guidelines and policy forms.
  • Provide basic technical support to customers and agents using MMG's online services.
  • Prepare insurance policies for issuance of new, renewal, and endorsed policies.
  • Key new business and renewal policy information into the company's computer system.
  • Process cancellations for non-payment of premium and other reasons.
  • Prepare quotes for agents and underwriters through the company's computer system.
  • Verify non-imaged policies for accuracy and identify errors on imaged applications.
  • Develop and maintain company/agency relations through friendly service.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree and 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated above-average telephone skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills.
  • Above-average keyboarding skills, speed, and accuracy.
  • Ability to operate an adding machine/calculator accurately.
