About the position

The Customer Service Representative (CSR) at Rush Transportation & Logistics is responsible for delivering exceptional service to both external and internal customers. This role is crucial in ensuring that customers have a positive experience with the company's products and services, addressing inquiries, and processing orders efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional demeanor while interacting with customers
  • Respond promptly to customer inquiries
  • Resolve customer-specific issues from order placement through freight delivery
  • Verify accurate input of rates, fuel surcharges, and any applicable assessorial charges into the TMS
  • Keep detailed records of customer interactions
  • Communicate shipment status updates to customers as necessary
  • Anticipate and communicate any service issues or delays to both customers and the internal team
  • Provide feedback on the effectiveness of the customer service process
  • Escalate issues for prompt resolution
  • Collaborate with Dispatch to ensure customer satisfaction and retention

Requirements

  • High school diploma or its equivalent
  • At least 1 year of experience in a customer service role
  • Experience in the logistics/transportation industry would be beneficial
  • Call center experience preferred
  • Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and a dedication to delivering exceptional service
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with office software, particularly MS Office
