About the position

The Customer Service Representative will play a crucial role in assisting customers with their inquiries and resolving complaints related to Social Security benefits. This remote position requires excellent communication skills, a service-oriented mindset, and the ability to maintain professionalism while interacting with customers. The representative will work Monday to Friday, providing support through various channels and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Interact with customers via telephone, email, or in person to provide support and information on services.
  • Collect and enter information for services.
  • Field customer questions and complaints, forwarding issues to specialists when necessary.
  • Ensure appropriate actions are taken to resolve customer problems and concerns.
  • Maintain customer accounts and records of interactions, including inquiries and complaints.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum typing speed of 35 WPM.
  • Excellent reading, writing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of telephone customer service or previous call center experience required.
  • Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software.
  • Ability to sit for long periods and work on a computer.
  • Must pass a background check and typing test.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree preferred.
  • Experience using computers and performing data-entry functions.
