About the position

The Customer Service Representative role at Rumpke of Ohio involves serving as the first point of contact for residential and commercial customers, addressing their inquiries and resolving issues. This position is crucial for enhancing customer satisfaction and meeting call center objectives through effective communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones promptly and courteously utilizing company procedures.
  • Receive and respond professionally to all customer inquiries via various channels.
  • Identify reasons for service cancellations and attempt to retain customers.
  • Provide information regarding service options, charges, billing, and contract parameters.
  • Ensure customer concerns are understood and clearly explain resolutions.
  • Process customer payments and assist with RumpkePay after training.
  • Work with other departments to resolve customer issues.
  • Log and record information on customer accounts.
  • Create work orders/interactions as required.
  • Resolve customer account issues and adjust accounts with management verification.
  • Process online data entry for residential and commercial accounts.
  • Manage and monitor city billing/invoicing and maintain sticker inventory.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in Municipal & Public Sector Government.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1-2 years of experience in customer service, call center, or administrative assistance preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to handle a heavy call volume professionally and efficiently.
  • Organized and detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent customer service and data entry skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with municipal contracts and billing processes.
  • Familiarity with RumpkePay system after training.
